james durbin

James William Durbin, born January 6, 1989, diagnosed at age of 10 with Tourette's and Asperger's Syndromes, lets nothing, including his "disabilities" get in the way of doing what he loves. Placing fourth in season ten of American Idol, James says he had a crash course in the music business in a short span of time. During the American Idol tour, James landed a gem of a record deal with Wind-Up Records and quickly put together a stellar debut album, "Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster" working with some of the biggest and best names in the industry. He has gained priceless respect and is already highly regarded by the music community for his stellar voice and musicality, his dedication and resolve to always give 110%.

But James will not stagnate or limit himself to a single genre or niche - he continues to grow, evolve, impress and inspire as he writes more and more of his own music. On his second album, "Celebrate," he has written or co-written 10 of the 11 tracks (there are 2 bonus tracks), working with the astounding and unbelievably talented producer / songwriter Scott Stevens of Exies fame. Under Scott's expert guidance, Celebrate should make a huge impression when it drops on April 8th of 2014. The lead single, "Parachute" is already playing across social media and radio to rave reviews and gaining momentum every day. And in the spirit of never being confined and always following his own path, James is already working on ablum #3 and under new management with Fieldhouse | Street Smart MGMT.

"Different is the New Normal" is a mantra James lives by, as well as giving back via anti-bullying campaigns across the country and a "live by example" sense of honor. He is a dedicated family man; faithful husband and loving father; and an inspiration to anyone who knows him and his passion for music and life. Yes, this is a "fan site" but then again, it is so much more. It is a labor of love, respect and admiration that goes far beyond a typical artist's fans. But James is nothing anywhere close to typical, and his fans, known as "Durbinators" and en masse, the "Outcast Army," adore him for it.
